Woolco
Retail chain company
Woolco was an American-based discount retail chain. It was founded in 1962 in Columbus, Ohio, by the F. W. Woolworth Company. It was a full-line discount department store unlike the five-and-dime Woolworth stores which operated at the time.

The American F.W. Woolworth Co. closed all of its US and Canadian variety stores in July 1997. The original corporate entity shifted its focus entirely to athletic apparel and changed its name to Foot Locker, Inc. in 2001.
The remaining fragments of the original brand are managed by different companies:
Foot Locker, Inc.: Holds the operational lineage and the corporate history of the F.W. Woolworth Company.
Radio Corporation of America (RCA): Owns the legacy trademark for "F.W. Woolworth Co." for retail services.
Moneywise, Inc.: Owns the trademark rights for the "Woolworth's" and "Woolworth Luncheon" names, which are utilized for museum and restaurant services.
Note: The Australian and South African Woolworths companies are independent entities and are not affiliated with the original American business.
Walmart does not own Woolworth. In fact, Walmart was the main competitor that ultimately drove the original Woolworth's out of business in the US.
Historically, Walmart acquired the 120 Canadian "Woolco" stores from the Woolworth Corporation in 1994, which officially launched Walmart's expansion into Canada. Today, the "F.W. Woolworth Co." trademarks are owned by different legacy and museum entities, while the current active "Woolworths" companies (predominantly in Australia and South Africa) are independently owned.
