Snow guns atomize water into a fine mist, which requires time in the air to freeze. The speed and quality of that freeze depend on the wet-bulb temperature:

A simple freezer attachment trips exterior temperature & sprays ice pellets & tarp covers unlike dry slope allow melt voudance
